Overview

For seasonal peaks.

A dormant worker is on an off-season pause. They stay on your books and on payroll records, keep their face enrolment so they can clock in straight away next season, but are not offered shifts and cannot be booked.

Dormant or Leaver?

Pick the right one.

Dormant (off-season) Deactivate (leaver)
Record Kept, active Kept, inactive; anonymised after the leaver period (24 months by default)
Face data Kept Deleted within 4 hours
Can be booked or offered shifts No No
Coming back Instant, one click Needs re-enrolment for face clock-in

Making Workers Dormant

One at a time or in bulk.

On Workforce > Workers, click Dormant on the worker's row.
To pause many at once, tick them (or use select all matching) and choose Make dormant from the bulk actions.
Filter the list by Dormant (off-season) to see who is paused, and since when.
Important

Use Deactivate (leaver) only for people who have left. It removes their face data within 4 hours.

Bringing Them Back

Instant.

Click Wake on the worker's row (its tooltip reads "Bring back for the season"), or use the bulk action. They can be booked and clock in immediately. A returning worker who was imported again from a spreadsheet can be reactivated by ticking the reactivate option on the import.

Billing

Only people who work are charged.

The per-worker charge only counts workers who clock a shift on 2 or more days in a month, so dormant workers cost nothing while they are paused.

Know who turned up, and pay every hour right.

Face-verified clock-ins, live geofencing and payroll-ready timesheets in one system. Tell us how your shifts run and we will show you how it fits.
